Dr. Blonder's Brilliant Ideas
....For the Months of June and July

1. I have really let the web page go during the past few months. It has been busy and we have been implicating new ideas, machines, and people. We have two working terminals working the new "Visionarian" software. This special software package allows better identification of our patients as well as faster record retrieval. Medical applications runs smoothly with all surgery, grooming, boarding, and appointment applications. We can add pictures to any record and/or prescription, so you could easily identify the prescription with belonging to your pet. Please come in to see "Visionarian", and get a free identification card for your pet.

2. East Village Green Animal Hospital now employs 7 full and part-time human helpers, and 6 non-human helpers. There have been some changes. Priti has left for veterinary school. She is going to Ross University (Bless her heart) on the island of St. Kitts. in the Caribbean. We have hired Susan Honnigman, a very skilled receptionist, to help us with the phones in the morning. We have also hired Randi Martin, a pre-vet student from the University of Delaware, for her technical skills. Check them out in the staff section. Boris has been adopted by the Blonder family, and can be seen on the Blonder page. We have obtained 2 young cocketiels, named "Niles and Marist", and a new kitten named, "Frankie". We have also added a fish tank (with fish of course). Check them out on the pet staff page.

3. Heading into our second summer here in Levittown, we are boasting over 1500 clients. Each and everyone a precious piece of our practice. They are the greatest people in the world, and are the dearest pet lovers. We welcome them and their friends whenever there pet gets sick or needs some grooming attention.

4. The adoption program is proceeding status quo. Presently, we have 5 cats up for adoption. Mystic and Magic are two 6 month old neutered male cats. Our friends, Mr and Mrs. Saul Srour brought them in from Totowa, NJ when it was discovered that Mrs.Srour was allergic to them when she brought them into their house. Peanut, Butter, and Jelly are three 6 wk old kittens that were brought in on a rainy day. The person said that he found the three of them stuffed into a plastic sac in the middle of a baseball field. All three of these kittens are FeLV free (as well as Mystic and Magic - also FIV free), and vaccinated. Take one home today.

5. You may have heard about my recent involvement with CNN and the canine testicular implants, "Neuticles". Jenny Moss, and her CNN camera crew, made a stop at the hospital to take footage of a Neuticle procedure. We did a regular neuter surgery on a dog and inserted testicular implants, so the dog would look the same. These implants, "Neuticles" are available for any size male dog or cat. It provides the benefit of a male animal to continue to look male, after the neutering procedure. The video segment can be view via the Neuticle web page at http://www.neuticles.com. You could read all about neuticles and then you can link up to the CNN page (which actually has the video segment).

6. You have the right to know this...I wish to make a recommendation at this time to avoid any livestock purchases from Pets of the World on Hempstead Tpke in Bethpage, NY....I have several problems with the new owner. I have seen a number of dogs and pocket pets from the store with very simple preventable ailments. I have seen dogs with elbow cysts, puppy mange, and marked kennel cough. I have also seen rabbits with severe parasites. Upon telling him about these preventable problems, he directly criticized me, told me his animals were healthy, and then elected to do nothing. He has no intention of preventing any of these problems, and would rather let his animal stock die or get sick. If you must purchase something live from that store, please bring it here asap, to make sure that its healthy.
